August the Autumn Holidays!

Dear Friends, Foes and Complete Strangers

August has been an interesting month I suppose. Kicking it off since our last meeting was my Birthday and what a hell of a day that was! The weather wasn't great but we didn't let that dampen our spirits as me and my 25 or so close friends came together for an evening garden party. Mr Wong and Smith had created an absoluteyl fab quiz about me, but with the most insanely random questions, so much so I scored 0/40 or whatever. The winner recieved a cheap bottle of Vodka, but hey its alcohol! We then toasted marshmallows round the camp-fire which was more of a bon-fire! As the evening drew out we squeezed into Mr Stowlers tent as Vicky, Chapi and Sarah had their own. Not much sleeping went on, but hey what the hell, It's only your 18th once!

Gayness, well erm Bradfoird Pride was rather a wash out, but we had a good 50 which was something, and it was nice and personal as many of the people knew each other. I won the award for Pinkest picnic with a picnic that wasn't actually mine, not bad eh?!

The intervening weeks are hazy memories but this weekend has been superb. Blagy went to Blackpool for their summer trip. It was overcast but alright day. We had a paddle on beach, ice cream, a dougnut or 15 and a ride on the big one. Not me mind £7 to be terrified no thank you i went on the dipper instead! The only bad point was standing on the train all the way there, though 13 vibrant gays certainly made their presence known!

On the Sunday me and Matt went to Bridlington to a Model Rail Show. There was a lovely layout called Salters Quay which was a really realistic model of an east coast village with close knit buildings and excellent moors scenery it really was the best by far! We then took a ride to Grosmont the terminus of the North York Moors Railway. We made a trip up to Goathland before heading back behind Sir Nigel Gresley 60007. I'm not normally a steam person but it was an amazing experience. We returned via a light hill, 33% gradient and had some tea in Malton, a very fine day.

Just a note to say that they annual southern excursion is mid September and i'm doing a Severn & Solent rover. 6 days of pretending to be straight in front of the family, eurgh, it gets tougher each year!

Thats all for now 'peeps'

Summer of Pride begins

Dear all, if indeed anyone is reading

Its been a very interesting few weeks, as its the time of the year when queens come out to celbrate who they are and I'm not alkign about Lizzie here. It started a few weekends back when I was invited to a Gay Barbeque hosted by a lovely man called Matt. It was nice to be amongst like minded others, though the campness levels were off the roof. I must admit I had far too many samosas, and I paid for that in the morning. I also had to walk my dear friend Mike home, who urinated publically twice and fell over a mere three times.

The Day after was the Pink Picnic in Huddersfield which I must admit was a bit lame really; havign said that I didn't have a right lot of cash on me, and was pleased to join up with Matt for some food later on. Blagy and ABC joined forces dining together, and then over the hill came a big dark cloud (not a monster). It was amusing to see 300 men running to tents squealing that their hair was getting wet. I could't be arsed to seek shelter and so just wrapped a pinic blanket around me.

The week in between was one with hazy memories. The folks were away in Isle of White so freinds were round most days. We had fun, I think!?

And to Sunday and Leeds pride. Well it was amazing, me and 3000 gays showing Leeds were here were queer get use to it. We all marched down the Headrow onto Vicar Lane, Boar Lane and finished on Briggate. I myself was on a float with Tom Doyle head of mesmac, the organizer of the event. VIP or what! And then i went on the buses for a ride!

Oh and other things, I went to Newcastle concerning the map. Things are looking good, not too long now until it'll be out hopefully. (how many times have you heard that?). After I went for a trip on the Tyne & Wear metro to Whitley Bay. It was an interesting little line, but I did make a bit of a fooh-pah on the ticketing, oh well!

Also I went to Sherburn-In-Elmet, a village in North Yorkshire with only 4 trains a day. I was lucky to cath DRS 66409 working for Freightliner on empty HTA hoppers from Ferrybridge. Shame I only had the old camera

Apologies this log lacks my usual gramatical flowericity, but I'm feeling a tadge unwell. Hopefully I'll all be good for my party on Saturday

Proper mingin' init mush-y peas, well I like them.

First Weeks of Freedom

Dear All

I've been advised by some, that you may be interested to read insights into my life, bizzarre I know, well here goes. (My keyboard is awful so spelling errors are often frequent even after checking)!

Well its been a month since I finished my last exam, and what an exciting month its been. Firstly I went on a North West Rover to complete the series, and what an eventful four days that was. I won't bore you with precise routes, but I visted the Cumbrian Coast and S&C (Settle & Carlisle) as well as exploring the Liverpool Suburbs. The highlight must've been the GBRf shed over Ribblehead Viaduct at sunset - amazing! Its not all about trains though, I enjoy travelling and looking out of the windows at beautiful scenery such as the rolling hills of Chesire was wonderful. I was also very surprised to find that Liverpool is a very nice city, much more wealth than I had expected.

So what else, well, I have been decorating the hallway for my dear parents as I have been unable to find a job over the summer, and want to show them my gratitude for living rent free, or something like that, and my god, aren't hallways difficult, so many doors, windows cupboards and I've got paint all over me, I have no idea how to get it off, I feel so dirty and corrupted!

My role in the Gay community grows all the time. friends will know that I attend numerous LGBTQ groups including the Rainbow Drummers. well for the first time, earlier this month I led the Rainbow Drummers in Concert for the first time at the Carriageworks theartre in Leeds. It was truly amazing to be the person at the front getting 300 people clapping along to a beat - It is an amazing experience.

Pride is coming to Bradford! and I know because I'm on the comitee organizing the event! The date is 19th August in Peel Park from 1200 with a great line up planned. Fun and games for an unrecognised community and totally family friendly too. it is good that Bradford is finally getting its act together about the issue.

Also many friends 18th's an they've all been jolly good fun. Thanks to Maddie & Daniel. I hope you guys are having great summers. On the subject of 18th's mine is less than a month away and I'm praying for good weather for my garden affair. For those coming I'm sending an email around before the week is out hopefully.
