Summer of Pride begins

Dear all, if indeed anyone is reading

Its been a very interesting few weeks, as its the time of the year when queens come out to celbrate who they are and I'm not alkign about Lizzie here. It started a few weekends back when I was invited to a Gay Barbeque hosted by a lovely man called Matt. It was nice to be amongst like minded others, though the campness levels were off the roof. I must admit I had far too many samosas, and I paid for that in the morning. I also had to walk my dear friend Mike home, who urinated publically twice and fell over a mere three times.

The Day after was the Pink Picnic in Huddersfield which I must admit was a bit lame really; havign said that I didn't have a right lot of cash on me, and was pleased to join up with Matt for some food later on. Blagy and ABC joined forces dining together, and then over the hill came a big dark cloud (not a monster). It was amusing to see 300 men running to tents squealing that their hair was getting wet. I could't be arsed to seek shelter and so just wrapped a pinic blanket around me.

The week in between was one with hazy memories. The folks were away in Isle of White so freinds were round most days. We had fun, I think!?

And to Sunday and Leeds pride. Well it was amazing, me and 3000 gays showing Leeds were here were queer get use to it. We all marched down the Headrow onto Vicar Lane, Boar Lane and finished on Briggate. I myself was on a float with Tom Doyle head of mesmac, the organizer of the event. VIP or what! And then i went on the buses for a ride!

Oh and other things, I went to Newcastle concerning the map. Things are looking good, not too long now until it'll be out hopefully. (how many times have you heard that?). After I went for a trip on the Tyne & Wear metro to Whitley Bay. It was an interesting little line, but I did make a bit of a fooh-pah on the ticketing, oh well!

Also I went to Sherburn-In-Elmet, a village in North Yorkshire with only 4 trains a day. I was lucky to cath DRS 66409 working for Freightliner on empty HTA hoppers from Ferrybridge. Shame I only had the old camera

Apologies this log lacks my usual gramatical flowericity, but I'm feeling a tadge unwell. Hopefully I'll all be good for my party on Saturday

Proper mingin' init mush-y peas, well I like them.
Luke xxx
